Lucky Lady Bugs!

Materials:
3 Paper Plates
1 Brad
Scissors
Crayons
Tape (optional)

Procedure:
Step 1: Cut one paper plate in half.

Step 2: Cut the 2nd plate in half then cut off the inner embossed edge.

Step 3: Place plate you cut in half over the whole plate.  Taking care to overlap the top two pieces, poke a hole through them.

Step 4: Insert brad.

Step 5: Poke a hole through the other plate and put it through the brad.  This is where you can use the tape to hold your ladybugs head in place better.

Step 6: Color! Let the students choose how many dots are on their ladybugs as long as there is an equal amount on each side as well as being in the same spot.  Symmetry can be gone over earlier in this lesson.

Step 7: Have the students open up their ladybugs wings and put the number of dots it has in the middle of the plate.
