Painted Rock Pets by S.Alsman

 

*The children will love creating their own pets out of rocks! Watch as children are creative in making their animals and choosing their colors. Children can make a familiar animal or create a unique one of their own.

Materials needed:
rocks, acrylic paint, brushes

Procedure:
1. Have the children go outside and pick their own rock. (Larger rocks may be easier to paint and add detail to.)

2. Paint the entire rock all one solid color.

3. Allow the rock to dry.

4. After the rock has dried, use other colors of paint to add details to the rock.

5. Enjoy your rock pet! Children may play with their pets or use them as door stops, paper weights, or garden decorations. They even make great gifts.

Apple Patterns

Items you will need:


1.) One apple per child
2.) Paint (at least two differnt colors)
3.) Knife
4.) Foam plate
5.) Strip of paper

Now cut the apple in half.



Next put one half of the apple in one color and the other half in the other color.
